Caloundra is a stunning location on the Sunshine Coast, just an hour north of Brisbane (around 90km or 55 miles).

Best Time to Visit Caloundra

Caloundra is known as the winter playground of the Sunshine Coast, thanks to the perfect temperatures and weather we get all winter round. The average temps in the coldest month of winter which is July sits at a perfect 20°C. Easy to see why it is known as the winter playground.

The best time to visit Caloundra really just depends on what type of weather you like. Do you like it very hot and steamy? or a little cooler but still perfect for sun baking and walks on the beach? The average temperature is Summer is around 29°C, and this can get well above 30 multiple days in a row. The rain season isn’t as big of a deal in Caloundra. The humid summer months do tend to see a bit more rain (mostly in January) and doesn’t really impact holidaymakers as most of the rain falls at night.  Basically Caloundra is perfect all year round, just depends on personal preferences.
